Steps to show or hide common desktop icons:
  1. Click Start button or Start Menu and open Control Panel. Just type and search in the search box.
  2. In search box on the top right, type personalization, and then click Personalization.
  3. In the left pane, click Change desktop icons.
  4. Under Desktop Icons, select the check box for the icons that you want to appear on the desktop. Clear the check box for icons that you don't want to appear, and then click OK.
